Who is hosting African Movie Academy Awards 2013?
After the submission of entries for this year’s edition of
the African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, closed on January 30, there followed a
flurry of activities leading to the announcement of nominations on March 15 in
Lilongwe, Malawi. The 9th edition of AMAA with the theme: ‘Africa One’, got a
record 671 films in competition with Francophone countries leading with
entries.

The Niger Delta Problem: What's the Real Challenge?
I was born in the Niger Delta, and lived in the Niger Delta in Nigeria until I came to the U.S. In some ways, I can be considered a child of big oil -- Mobil Oil -- to be specific. But I own no oil fields and none of my family works in the oil sector. My ancestors (grandfather and father) are from a village in oil country, in a place called Eket.

TO MAKE DECENT SHELTERS AFFORDABLE
The reason why most people seem to be living below UN poverty line is simply misplacement of priorities and lack of basic information. Lack of basic amenities will not be a big problem if there is basic information. Not just basic information on the part of the people but also of the leadership in place (Government of the day).
It is possible for all citizens of Edo State to have affordable decent shelters if certain policies are formulated and enforced in the State. The Government of Edo State can enact policies that will help alleviate the anguish of the Citizens of the State by ensuring that the housing facilities are affordable and commensurate with the present minimum wage.

John Pepper Clark
A poet and playwright, John Pepper Clark-Bekederemo was born 6th of April 1935. The old professor, a Nigerian of creative repute is still alive. A unique writer, who published most of his work as J. P. Clark, is a son of the Niger Delta. He is an Ijaw son who was born in Kiagbodo, a major component of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
